Hwo to use jsesh3/12/2023 If you like Egyptian, the Westcar papyrus is pretty… colorful. You may be eaten by a magical wax crocodile. If you sleep with the wife of a sorcerer, don’t go swimming in the garden pool afterwards. And Egyptian is like French: inanimate objects are either masculine or feminine.Īnyway, the moral of this particular tale is: And if that’s the case, then it doesn’t make sense to read im=s as “in her.” Sure, the pronoun =s is feminine, but that’s because Ssp.t "pavilion" is feminine. So we have a pretty good reason to believe that mT n ir=n At im=s is directly addressed to Ubainer’s wife. This was a labor of love, and I’m certainly not an expert. I’ve been tweaking this deck for a while now, and the occasional piece of data comes from another site. I used this for a bit of example vocabulary. I used this site to help translate some of the hieroglyph descriptions to English. I used this mostly for notes on transliteration and pronunciation. I also used this site for example vocabulary, Latin names of Egyptian animals, and descriptions of some signs. I took the original lists of essential signs from this site, removed some of the less common ones and added a few that I see often.
